ABSTRACT
This study investigates the nests and nest materials used by House Sparrows across various habitat scales in Bhavnagar,
Gujarat, India. House Sparrows are adaptable to urban environments but have faced declines due to nesting site scarcity. Nest
design, placement and materials influence predation risk and affect reproductive success. Artificial nest-boxes serve as crucial
alternatives in urban areas. Overall, this research sheds light on House Sparrows’ adaptability for nesting, aiding conservation
efforts and expanding our understanding of avian nesting dynamics.
