ABSTRACT

Esthetics, which is derived from the Greek word for “perception”, deals with beauty and the beautiful. It has two dimensions: objective and subjective. Artificial tooth pontic can be used as an esthetic step towards the treatment of pathological migration in patients having poor bone support in the anterior region. As it causes splinting of the mobile teeth along with replacement of space with esthetically pleasing appetence which is readily accepted by the patient.

सारांश

सौंदर्यशास्त्र (Esthetics) शब्द ग्रीक भाषा के "perception" (अनुभूति) शब्द से व्युत्पन्न है, जो सौंदर्य और सुंदरता से संबंधित है। इसके दो आयाम हैं — वस्तुनिष्ठ (Objective) और व्यक्तिनिष्ठ (Subjective)। कृत्रिम दंत पॉन्टिक (Artificial Tooth Pontic) का उपयोग उन रोगियों में पैथोलॉजिकल माइग्रेशन (Pathological Migration) के उपचार की दिशा में एक सौंदर्यपरक कदम के रूप में किया जा सकता है, जिनमें अग्र क्षेत्र (Anterior Region) में हड्डी का आधार (Bone Support) अपर्याप्त होता है। यह उपचार पद्धति हिलते हुए दाँतों को स्प्लिंटिंग (Splinting) के माध्यम से स्थिर करती है और साथ ही रिक्त स्थान को सौंदर्यपूर्ण रूप से आकर्षक कृत्रिम दाँत से भर देती है, जिसे रोगी सहजता से स्वीकार कर लेता है।
